Signs and symptoms
          Heel pain and swelling at the back of the heel. Radiography may show calcification deposits within the tendon.

Cause of Orthopedic Tumor
          Although the exact cause is unknown, genetic factors and exposure to radiation play a role in development of orthopedic tumor.

Signs and Symptoms
          Mostly, patients are asymptomatic. However, common symptoms include palpable mass, swelling and tenderness of the affected area.

Diagnosis
          Imaging tests are required to evaluate orthopedic tumor. The types of imaging tests or investigations depend on individual signs and symptoms. Removing a sample of tissue (biopsy) from the tumor will help determine the type of tumor cells. 

Treatment
          Many benign bone tumors that do not cause any symptoms do not require treatment and can be observed over time. Treatment for cancerous tumor is based on the type of cancer, the stage of cancer, overall health of the patient and their preferences.
