DISCOVERY PICO

 

          Discovery PICO is an innovative medical laser that is used for tattoo removal, pigmented lesions, acne scars and wrinkles.

How does Discovery PICO work?

          Discovery PICO is a type of picosecond laser Nd:YAG laser that can emit wavelength at both 1064 nm and 532 nm. The energy from the laser will penetrate through the outer layer of skin, targeting the pigment without affecting surrounding tissues. As the laser works in ultrashort picosecond pulses, it is able to vibrate and fragment the pigments into smaller particles that can be easily eliminated by the body immune system. Furthermore, the feature of this laser allows aged skin (skin rejuvenation) to be treated effectively.

The handpieces include fractional handpiece, which is for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation with short recovery time and high safety levels. The flat-top round and square handpieces is for ink and pigmentation treatment.

What is DISCOVERY PICO used for?

          DISCOVERY PICO can be used for problems that arise on the face, arms, back, hands and other parts of the body. It can also be used to treat pigmentation that occurs on the lips, armpits and the base of the breast.

Discovery PICO in FRACTIONAL MODE:

          Fractional mode of Discovery PICO release picosecond laser through micro-lens array. This ensures effective skin treatments, improve acne scars, pigmentation and collagen remodeling. After this procedure, there may be mild redness of the skin. For superficial pigmented lesions, there will be formation of scab which will fall off after 3 days. Avoid scratching and make sure to moisturize the skin.

Preparing for Discovery PICO

• Avoid excessive sun exposure for two weeks prior to the treatment
• Underlying diseases and any current medications should be discussed with medical expert
• On the day of treatment, avoid applying makeup, creams, gels, or lotions on treatment areas

After Discovery PICO Treatment

• Pain and discomfort during the procedure are generally mild. Some redness, swelling, and bruising may occur but should subside in a short amount of time.
• Avoid washing treatment areas with soap or applying makeup until the scabs fall off.
• In the case of wound, make sure to keep the wound dry for 2 days after treatment and apply antibiotic skin cream as ordered.
• In the week following treatment, if the skin is slightly dry, cleansers and moisturizer can be used.
